Finally visited Gardens by the Bay with bb over the weekend :) So stressed out by work and relationship issues lately… going back to nature always help to take some stress away.
So we started from the free outdoor gardens.. weather was really good (cloudy and no hot sun)
We haven’t even explored most of the free gardens when it started drizzling. Zzzz.. Had no choice but to head to the observatories to take shelter. Decided that we might as well pay to go into the observatories since we’re already there.
Yuletide in the Flower Dome: 17 Nov 2014 – 6 Jan 2015
I think it’d have been really pretty to be at at Gardens by the Bay with the Christmas lights at night. Oh wells, next year maybe…. Lezzgooooooo!
The Christmas decor was surprisingly… small. Just repeats of the same flowers and a place for people to take photos.
There’s a whole section on cactuses. Didn’t know there were so many varieties!
Some special ones we saw:
This is a statue of a human on a horse. In case you think it’s a cactus too, lol
We were greeted by this towering waterfall at the entrance. The whole floor was wet cause it splatters. So cold we were freezing to death. You basically go up to the top level (level 7) and walk downwards, exploring the different types of plants at different altitudes.
Learnt something new :)
We spent like 3-4 hrs at the free outdoor gardens and the two observatories. For $20/pax, I would say it’s quite worth it! I wish there were more signs & boards though; most of the time we don’t know what we’re looking at.
Hope to visit Gardens at night to see the beautiful lights the next time!
