The festive season just passed and so many people I know fell sick, including myself. So what do you do when you have the cough/cold other than feeling miserable?
Some turn to hot chocolate. Some turn to milk. I turn to my trusty Yujacha (유자차).
I am so glad I discovered this drink. It warms me up from inside and makes me feel better almost immediately. Love it so much cause it’s packed with natural goodness! I strongly recommend it to anyone with a cold/hangover cause I have tried it many times and it works
Particularly popular during the winter, Yujacha (citron tea) contains ample vitamins. Its most famous advocate was King Sejong the Great, who created the Korean alphabet. The tea is made by adding a pulpy mixture of citron and sugar or honey to a cup of warm water.
Benefits of Yujacha:
Citron tea helps to suppress coughing, relieve hangovers, and is incredibly effective in curing indigestion. It is also good for colds, headaches and chills because it contains a lot of vitamin C, which is effective in preventing colds and fatigue recovery. It can help people recover from colds quickly, by causing perspiration to bring down a fever. It also helps sooth the inflammation in throats and coughs.
Where to buy:
You can buy Yujacha from Korean supermarkets. If you live in Singapore, you can find korean marts in Vivocity (Opposite Giant/Supermarket) and Marina Square(near John Little). I bought a huge tub for just S$12-$14. While you’re there, pick up some other korean food like ramyun and deobbokki as well!
If you’re adventurous, try making your own! Click here for the recipe.
